1.The Inappropriate Buddy不适当的工作伙伴

A kind of boss is so friendly, but not in the kind of fun that the team builds. He constantly invites you to go out of work outside of the time, immersed in the office gossip. He uses his influence to make friends at the expense of his own work.

有种老板太友好了,但不是在团队建设的那种乐趣中。他不断地邀请你在工作以外的时间外出,沉浸于办公室八卦。他利用自己的影响力来结交朋友,以牺牲自己的工作为代价。


For this type of boss, the most important thing is to learn to make clear boundaries. Do not let his position threaten you. By consciously and actively building a border, you can control the situation. For example, you can keep a friendly attitude with your boss all day long, but do not be afraid to refuse to drink after work. By keeping yourself away from what you think is inappropriate, you can still succeed and even keep a healthy relationship with your boss.

This is the boss who makes you feel as if you are under constant surveillance. She thought your handwriting could use improvement, so she waited until you left work at 7:00 p.m. to throw away your pencils and replace them with the .9 lead mechanical pencils that have the “proper grip.” She has even handed back your 20-page report because you used a binder clip instead of a staple. The micromanager pays too much attention to small details, and her constant hovering makes employees feel discouraged, frustrated, and even uncomfortable.

Successful people are able to respond flexibly by demonstrating that they are flexible, capable, disciplined, and communicative. It is natural for a manager to be born to work in the way she thinks. The challenge for the boss is to seize the envisaged approach. To do this, try to ask your project for specific questions, check out frequently, and look for trends in the boss's feedback.

成功人士通过证明自己灵活、有能力、有纪律,在保持沟通的同时,能够灵活应变。一位管理人员天生就会对按照她设想的方式工作的员工很自然。对事无巨细的老板的挑战是抓住所设想的方法。要做到这一点,试着问你的项目的具体问题,经常查看,并在老板的反馈中寻找趋势。

3.The Incompetent缺乏能力的

The boss was promoted in a hurry, or was hired, and had a position beyond her ability. Most likely, she is not totally incapable, but she has some people who report to her who work longer in the company and have the information and skills that she lacks.

If you find yourself frustrated by this type of boss, it is probably because you have the experience she lacks. It is important to put down your pride, share your experience and knowledge, and do not hit her face. Share the boss needs to grow into her role information, you will become her allies and friends.

This boss makes decisions based on the numbers, and when he’s forced to reach a conclusion without the proper data, he self-destructs. He makes little or no effort to connect with his employees, and instead, looks solely to the numbers to decide who is invaluable and who needs to go.

Just because he is only digitally sensitive, that does not mean you can not be an exception.
